"Yeah, if we keep complaining about it, we might get magic powers!" My older sister Lydia said sarcastically. She turned around, rolling her eyes, and shut the lights off. The two of us went to bed. Lydia fell asleep promptly, but I had my eyes wide open, thinking of how it would be to be able to go anywhere in the world without being stuck in a congested plane for 10 hours.
After what seemed like an entire night of wondering, I finally fell asleep. I had a dream about climbing to the top of Mount Everest and swimming with dolphins in Hawaii. There was even a kingdom of candy somewhere in the middle! "Miranda, Mom told me to wake you up. If you don't get up now, you'll miss the bus," said a voice that sounded exactly like Lydia's. I wasn't too sure, I was still half asleep.
During homeroom, the teacher of the month was announced. The whole class broke into applause, so I went along with it. I started feeling kind of dizzy and all I could see was darkness. The feeling inside me, I don't know what it is. Am I cold, or lonely, or scared. I think it's a combination of the three.
Thud! I fell face-first on a bed of flowers. Apparently, this bed of flowers was the largest one I have ever seen! I got up and saw a picturesque scene full of tulips in every color you could imagine! For about 5 minutes, I just stood there, amazed, staring at the rainbow of beauty.
Then, reality struck me. Wait, how did I get here? I thought I was at school. I turned around. There was not another human being in sight. Suddenly, there was another thud!
"Aah!" I screeched. After the shock was over, I walked gingerly in the direction the sound came from. The... thing that had fell looked slightly familiar. It stood up and I finally realized what that thing was. Actually, it wasn't even a thing, it was Lydia! I'm not alone!
"Lydia! Where are we? How did we get here? Weren't we at school just now? Lydia, answer me!" I bombarded her with a myriad of questions before she had a chance to breathe.
"Slow down Miranda! Okay...I don't remember any place with this many flowers anywhere near our house," she said, observing our surroundings,"Oh! I think we're in the Netherlands. Yeah, there's supposed to be this huge tulip fie-"
"WHAT! We're alone in the Netherlands and you're talking as if this was the most normal thing in the world!" I interrupted.
"Calm down! First, we have to figure out how we got here. Got any ideas?"
I thought, and I thought, and I thought until I couldn't think anymore, but I still had absolutely no idea how we got to this flower-filled field.
Then, Lydia had the most realistic idea EVER! "Remember this morning when the teacher of the month was announced! We all clapped, didn't we! And remember last night! You wished we could clap our hands and be wherever we want to! THIS is where we wanted to be!" she said faster than my brain could handle. I took a minute to process this information, and realized it actually made sense. We did end up here right after the announcements.
"That answers one question, but not the second, more important one. How are we ever going to get back home?"
Lydia sighed and shook her head. "Hmm... Let's see... We have the power to clap our hands and instantly be anywhere we want to be... Oh, maybe we can CLAP OUR HANDS!"
".......I still don't get it." with a clueless look on my face. It's not my fault she's smarter than me.
"Ugh! You know what! Just clap and wish to be home!" She said, obviously grappling the temptation to explode at me.
So, I did what she told me to and Poof!, we were standing in the backyard of our house.I couldn't believe my eyes. Even though we were only gone for an hour, it felt like ages since I was in NJ. Lydia and I walked into our house.
"You guys are home early!" said Mom, surprised at the fact that we were "at school" for just one hour.
"Oh, yeah, everyone gets to come home early today." Lydia said, hiding the fact that we went on an adventure.
Then, out of the blue, I ran into my mothers arms. "Mommy! I missed you so much!" To avoid getting "the look" from Lydia, I scrambled up the stairs at top speed and slammed our bedroom door shut.
I put my head against the floor in order to eavesdrop on the conversation below. "Whats up with her today?" Mom asked inquisitively.
"I think she's having some sort to mental breakdown." said Lydia, probably snickering to herself.

I love that u incorporated humor at the end, and that it was very descriptive. Great story!
